Last week, we had the pleasure of attending the Allstate Foundation Good Start Young launch event in DC. This was such a great event for the family and I am so glad that we got to be a part of it.

Allstate Foundation Good Starts Young program aims to educate parents and youth about SEL skills and encourage students to create the futures they envision. If you are not familiar with SEL skills, it is social and emotional learning, which includes five core competencies: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Mastering the core competencies of SEL gives our youth the valuable lessons they need to grow into tomorrow’s future leaders.

The Allstate Foundation Good Starts Young Pedestal event was great! It was our chance to meet other parents and leaders a part of the organization. Aria got involved by standing on the empowering pedestals, she loved it! Also, one of the highlights of the day was meeting Lonnie Chavis of the hit show “This Is Us”. Having an event like this to bring awareness to the wonderful initiatives The Allstate Foundation is implementing is amazing. If you are a parent, or have young children in your life, I definitely encourage you to take a look at the website and check out how you can get your child involved!!

Thank you to The Allstate Foundation, we had a blast! I cannot wait to get Aria involved!

With Love, Passion & STYLE,
Dayna
