DC STAYCATION- THE AIRBNB EXPERIENCE

I am coming off of a great weekend staycation in DC with Airbnb! With the busy holiday  season quickly approaching, it was so nice to just get away with Ari, relax in a beautiful space, and enjoy each other.

We stayed at a beautiful two bedroom condo right in the heart of City Center DC. The space is modern, with beautiful finishes. The condo space had two bedrooms, two bathrooms with two additional pull out beds to comfortably sleep at least four people. I absolutely loved the beautiful space.

I have been a fan of Airbnb brand for a while. I love the idea that you get a home away from home experience for a great price. I have been booking Airbnb all year, but this weekend was the first time I actually booked an Airbnb Experience. Airbnb Experiences are an awesome way to find cool local things to do in the city. It allows for you to connect more with the locals and also find the not so “typical” touristy attractions. For our Airbnb Experience we decided to try out the DC’s most Instagrammable street art. Our tour guide Korey, took us to some really cool walls. It was fun seeing the city and finding these cool areas. Korey, our host is also very knowledgeable of the DC culture, so she was able to share so much history of the city! This tour would be perfect for a group of friends or even the solo traveler looking to get out and explore cool areas (and also have someone who can take your pics lol).

I also loved that we got out into the DC community and met some DC locals via the community group @walkwithlocals. The group meets once a month to walk the DC community and find cool locations to explore while meeting new people. The group meet-up is so cool because it allows you to connect with all genders, races and cultures. It was great for us to connect with the locals of DC.

Our last stop was to the legendary Ben’s Chili Bowl. Ben’s Chili Bowl sells half-smokes, which are half pork half beef sausage. DC doesn’t really have an official food but half-smokes are pretty close. Ben’s Chili Bowl is a DC staple, politicians come here to shake hands and meet with the community. The mayor made sure he brought Obama to Ben’s to welcome him into the city.

I am so glad we had the opportunity to enjoy this Airbnb Experience! If you are visiting DC, or if you just want to have a local getaway, definitely check out this Airbnb and some of the local experiences!! You definitely won’t regret it.

With Love, Passion and STYLE,
Dayna
