THE 3 THINGS THAT KEEPS ME FOCUSED ON BUILDING MY BRAND
Here I am, six months into launching this blog! Boy, has it been one hell of a year. I still have to pinch myself when I realize I am my own boss and living out the dream that I set for myself. I have learned so much this year, about myself as a mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend.
As I reflect on the last six months, I can say this: faith plus hard work can change any circumstance. Four months ago, I quit my job and I have not looked back. It has been so rewarding being my own boss. I have traveled a ton, and I have been able to devote more time to my business. But I would be lying if I said it was a cakewalk. This business is HARD, really hard! The level of focus, attention to detail, and tenacity you must have to make this work has to be top notch. I often get asked about my success, and how I stay encouraged in a big sea with a million fish in it, so today I want to share the three things that keeps me inspired and focused on building my brand to bigger and new heights.
TUNE OUT THE NOISE.
If this isn’t the hardest thing to do when building your brand, I don't know what is. But honestly, you need to put on your Dre Beats, plug in those earplugs, or whatever else you need to do, to tune out the noise, the nay-sayers or anyone trying to block you and your vision. Tuning out the noise could mean changing your circle, or just not focusing on what anyone else is doing, because at the end of the day: if it is not about you, your business, or positive vibes, it-is-noise! Tuning noise out for the last few months has helped me tremendously when I am in a funk, or unmotivated.
STRENGTHEN YOUR TRIBE
I hear this all of the time, but you are the average of the five people you communicate and hang out with the most. For me, it is super important that I surrounded myself by like-minded and supportive women. Women that will encourage me when I need it, bounce ideas off of, vent to, cry to, or just simply be inspired by. I am blessed to have a tribe and I consider them the best of friends. Staying motivated in your business journey can be tough, but I find it easier when you have a strong tribe!
LET THE GOAL PUSH YOU
Honestly, I am a huge visual person. I love visualizing my goals and where I want to be. I can see myself doing so many things and the way I stay motivated and inspired is by visualizing my goals already completed. Visualization is REAL ya’ll. I mentioned this before in other blog posts, but I visualized a lot of the goals I have achieved this year. I remember not thinking entrepreneurship was possible for me, but I changed my mindset. When my mindset changed, things started to happen for me. Positive affirmations and thinking is key to achieving your goals. I truly believe that.
I know staying motivated in this business journey is tough, and it can be frustrating and emotional. But believing in yourself, having a good tribe, and always staying focus on your goals is what will get you through. Trust the process and remember it will all be worth it!! These are words I tell myself every day!
